About This Site
The Travel Gear Luggage publishes practical, first-hand reviews and how-to guides for people who travel often and want their gear to keep up. We cover carry-on spinner suitcases, packing cubes, carry-on travel backpacks, travel neck pillows and universal travel adapters, and we judge every one on how it holds up through airports, hotel rooms and long travel days.

Travel Safety
Airline size and weight limits change by carrier, route and fare class. Always confirm the current carry-on and checked bag rules with your airline before you fly, and weigh a packed bag before you leave home. A bag that is over the limit can be gate-checked or charged a fee.
Lift heavy bags with your legs, not your back, and use both hands when putting a suitcase into an overhead bin. Ask for help if a bag is too heavy to lift above your head safely. Keep wheels and handles in good repair, since a jammed handle or broken wheel can cause a trip or fall in a busy terminal.
Travel adapters change the plug shape, not the voltage. Check the voltage rating on every device before plugging it in abroad, and never use a hair dryer or other high-wattage heating appliance through a plug adapter unless it is rated for the local voltage. Unplug adapters you are not using and never leave a charging device unattended on a bed or pillow.
Spare lithium batteries and power banks usually must travel in your carry-on, not your checked bag. Keep medication, travel documents and valuables in the bag that stays with you, and follow the security screening rules for the airports you pass through.
Neck pillows and long seated journeys do not prevent circulation problems. On long flights, get up and walk when it is safe, stay hydrated, and talk to your doctor before travel if you have a history of blood clots or other health concerns.
